What personal information is collected and why?
All information you provide to us if completely optional. However, we may not be able to complete your request if we do not receive some information.
If you contact us we may collect your name, email address, postal address and phone number, if included along with the contents of your communication. The information collected is only used to make contact with you to answer your query.
If you register or transfer ownership of a donkey or mule, we may collect details about your donkey or mule, serving details, your contact details and the breeders contact details. This information collected is used to determine if registration can occur and is included both in the registration and some of the information is included on the donkey or mule’s registration papers.
If you become a member, we may collect your contact details along with your age if you are a junior member. This information is used to maintain our membership database, manage access to the online registry, send you communications and manage our closed Facebook Group.
If you engage with the society through social media, we will collect your handle and the contents of the post. The information collected is used to allow engagement with others in that channel.

Who is my information shared with?
Your contact information may be shared with other members if you are a member. If you take a role within the society your contact information may be shared publicly.
Information contained within the registry about your breeding, current or prior ownership of donkeys is also available to members and on respective registration papers.
We may publish your name, photograph and the broad geographical region in which you live, in relation to events you attend or awards you have received. This may be done through a number of channels including those that are publicly available.
If you post on our social media this information may be available publicly.
If we have concerns about the welfare of a donkey or mule we may share information in order to ascertain details about the situation or to arrange for appropriate assistance.

We do not share your personal information with any other parties unless we have your consent or are required to do so by law.
